  • Therapeutic Touch is a technique used to bring awareness into the body and gently calm the nervous system. The practitioner rests their hands with light pressure on various parts of the body depending on the presenting concerns of the patient. The patient remains clothed during the session.

Therapeutic Touch can decrease the hormone cortisol, thus reducing stress and anxiety (“fight or flight”), and by promoting a state of relaxation the body is better able to heal itself.

Some possible results of treatment may include reduced heart rate and blood pressure, decreased anxiety and stress, decreased inflammation, improved sleep, and pain reduction.
